US imposes ban on imports of Canadian alcohol, motorcycles, and other goods

Announcing new import restrictions on Tuesday, the White House stated that Canada "discriminates" against American companies by restricting the import of US goods while not applying similar measures to identical products from other countries.

 The US ban covers items including Canadian dairy products, non-alcoholic and malt beer, an extensive list of wines, rums, and vodkas, as well as motorcycles and mopeds.

 Higher tariffs will be imposed on various types of cheese, paper, leather products, certain types of furniture, specific metals, including aluminum and iron, motorboats, and golf carts.
