Elon Musk fears that Russia might strike Starlink satellites using "Nudol" anti-satellite missiles

On the social network X, he stated that the system must remain civilian and not participate in offensive military operations; otherwise, its satellites could become targets for retaliatory strikes.

According to Musk, the destruction of satellites would result in a vast amount of debris, which could make the use of space impossible.

This was his response to a report suggesting that Russia might potentially use "Nudol" anti-satellite missiles against Starlink.

"Nudol" is an anti-missile and anti-space defense system under development by Russia’s Almaz-Antey defense conglomerate. It is equipped with high-speed solid-fuel missiles capable of destroying targets either through direct kinetic impact or, potentially, with a conventional warhead.
