Mass unrest has been raging in the Albanian capital for eight days now

Demonstrators are attacking law enforcement officers with fireworks and Molotov cocktails, while the police are responding with water cannons.

In the city center, the Ministry of Education building, banks, and vehicles have been set on fire.

School students, university students, and the opposition are demanding the prime minister’s resignation, accusing the government of corruption and causing an economic crisis.

Authorities have already brought criminal charges against nearly 400 people for acts of violence and the destruction of property.
