Amid uncertainty regarding the whereabouts of former conservative presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro, the news portal Metrópoles reported on October 27 that the politician had fled to the U.S. by air.
According to the Brazilian outlet, which cites sources close to the Bolsonaro family, the candidate who lost last Sunday’s presidential runoff is currently on a flight bound for U.S. territory.This following media speculation that he had left the country without complying with a court order to surrender his passports.
The day before, the former candidate for the Liberal Party (PL) asserted that he did not plan to flee the country, as the authorities had assumed, and characterized the seizure of his documents, following an order issued the previous day by Judge Alexandre de Moraes, as an act of political revenge.

La medida fue dictada el lunes en el marco de una investigación por presunto lavado de dinero.
La Policía Federal comenzó a revisar los registros migratorios y los movimientos aéreos entre Brasil y Argentina. Hasta el momento, los investigadores no habían encontrado constancia de que Bolsonaro hubiera cruzado regularmente la frontera. Las autoridades brasileñas también solicitaron colaboración a sus pares argentinos para esclarecer la situación.
