Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, is most concerned not by problems within Germany itself, but by "Russia's influence on the German people."
"My greatest concern right now is not our economy, not the European Union, not America, and not China. My greatest concern is Russia's influence on our society," the publication Nius quotes him as saying.
NATO countries have repeatedly accused Russia of various "malicious" actions, including "disinformation campaigns," "cyberattacks," and other "hybrid operations", without providing any evidence.
Moscow has repeatedly rejected such accusations, dismissing them as groundless. The Kremlin has also frequently pointed out that it has become a common trend in the West to blame Russia for everything. For its part, Moscow has stated on numerous occasions that it has no plans to attack NATO countries.
