Oil prices continue to fall after Trump waives Russian sanctions

Brent crude futures have continued to decline in Monday morning trading in Asia, with prices dropping by more than 1.5 percent to $107.92 a barrel in early trading.

It comes after Trump signed an executive order on Friday calling off numerous planned Russia-related sanctions, days before they were due to take effect, including duties on Russian goods and penalties for buying the country’s oil and gas.

Brent crude oil briefly touched $110 a barrel on Friday for the first time since May as tensions and security threats in the Middle East raised concerns over the safety of shipping and tighter global energy supplies.
