The situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains unstable, despite the U.S. Navy’s involvement in ensuring security in the region, according to sources cited by The Washington Post.
The outlet noted that most private companies continue to refuse to include the strait in their shipping routes, as seven crew members on oil tankers have died since August as a result of attacks in the region.
One source pointed out that, although the volume of oil being transported has increased, only a few vessels carrying liquefied natural gas are willing to take that risk.
