Trump disavowed statements by US Ambassador about strike on Iran this weekend

US President Donald Trump disavowed statements by US Ambassador to Turkey and special envoy for Syria Tom Barrack about the possibility of a strike on Iran this weekend.

Journalists asked the US leader to comment on the statement upon his arrival in Florida. "That was my ambassador?" Trump asked the reporters skeptically. "He's a pretty powerful man, I guess," the president added sarcastically. "Well, if that's the case, I don't know anything about it," he emphasized.

Earlier, when asked by blogger Mario Nawfal if a strike on Iran was possible this weekend, Barrack said: "Absolutely." He added, however, that the goal would not be "regime change.".
