The Trump administration has not authorized the delivery of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system that Ukraine needs in its conflict with Russia, The Washington Post reports.
Some transfers of interceptor missiles would come from countries allied with Kyiv and require the approval of the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, according to a U.S. official and three individuals familiar with the matter.
The sources noted that Hegseth has not formally rejected the transfers, but he has also not completed the steps necessary to approve them, even as he has continued to authorize other forms of U.S. assistance to Ukraine.
