American news outlet reports that Donald Trump held a "tough" phone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu regarding negotiations with Iran and the timing for a potential resumption of hostilities.
The Israeli Prime Minister is pushing for a strike immediately following the U.S. midterm elections, but Trump, for now, intends to give diplomacy a chance."Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to launch a strike against Iran right after Tuesday’s midterm elections. However, Trump currently wants to let the negotiations run their course—a strategy that is causing concern for Netanyahu," writes Axios.
The publication notes that Trump, much like he did before previous operations, is playing a double game: preparing for strikes while simultaneously attempting to negotiate. At the same time, he acknowledged that Iran is “not very reliable” and threatened to deal with the remaining nuclear facilities, including “Peak Mountain”, “very quickly.”
“We can do it in 10 minutes. We have it planned. You can look at Peak Mountain. We have to deal with that. We can do it very quickly,” Axios quotes Trump as saying.
