Iranian lawmaker claims war turned country into ‘global superpower’

Iranian lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian has said the US-Israel war on Iran failed to achieve its objectives and instead strengthened Tehran’s position internationally.

In a series of posts on X, Nabavian said Washington and Israel sought to destroy Iran’s civilisation, divide the country, overthrow the Islamic Republic and eliminate its nuclear and missile programmes.

He claimed Iran’s resistance and military operations forced US bases in the region to shut down, contributed to rising global prices and weakened President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu politically.

Nabavian also described Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic advantage, claiming the war turned the country into a “global superpower”.

He warned against allowing what he described as fearful, pro-Western voices to reverse the narrative of who won and lost the war.
