Poroshenko vows that Crimea will be returned to Ukraine ("not necessarily... by military means")
As the European Union announced a fresh wave of sanctions against Moscow, Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko vowed Friday to reunite the Russian-held region of Crimea with the rest of the country.
The annexation of Crimea, which sparked a diplomatic crisis with the West, will be reversed not by military force, but by an "economic and democratic petition" Poroshenko declared.
"In a few days I go to the United States where we have a very important meeting with the US Congress (and) the US president... We are also hoping in the very near future for a special status of a non-NATO member alliance," Poroshenko, speaking in English, told an international business forum in Kiev.

Το αμερικανικό Κογκρέσο ενέκρινε μυστικά την αποστολή ελαφρύ
οπλισμού σε μετριοπαθείς αντάρτες της Συρίας στο νότιο τμήμα της χώρας,

Obama Urges No New Iran Sanctions...
WASHINGTON, November 14 (RIA Novosti) – US President Barack Obama on
Thursday urged federal lawmakers not to enact further sanctions against
Iran amid ongoing negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program.
“If we’re serious about pursuing diplomacy, there’s no need to add new sanctions on top of the sanctions that are already very effective,” Obama told a White House news conference, adding that Washington can “dial those sanctions right back up” if Iran fails to comply with an agreement.
