IMF calls for Greek debt relief "compatible" with EU agenda

The EU said Friday that the International Monetary Fund's calls for debt relief for Greece are "fully compatible" with the agenda in Brussels for negotiating a third Athens bailout.

Greece, EU need sustainable plan before new loan: IMF

The International Monetary Fund said on Thursday (Jul 30) it would not join a new bailout programme for Greece until conditions for debt sustainability, including debt relief and economic reforms, are clearly assured.
