A car bomb exploded in Cairo on Friday unsuccessfully targeting a judge who is trying a case against supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, a security source told Ahram Online.

Turkey detains over 6,000 in wake of failed coup bid
The Turkish government accelerated its crackdown on alleged plotters of the failed coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with the justice minister saying Sunday that 6,000 people had been detained in the investigation.

2,745 judges, prosecutors arrested in Turkey for complicity in coup attempt
