Τα πρώτα τηλεοπτικά δελτία ειδήσεων ήταν ανιαρά. Απλά μια μετάδοση «ραδιοφωνικών» δελτίων με εικόνα καθώς η οθόνη έδειχνε τον παρουσιαστή να διαβάζει τα χαρτιά του. Έπρεπε να περάσουν δεκαετίες προκειμένου η τηλεοπτική ειδησεογραφία να αποκτήσει ζωντάνια και να αξιοποιήσει τη δύναμη και τις δυνατότητες που διαθέτει το μέσο.

Παρόμοια και το ίδιο ανώριμη είναι η χρήση που γίνεται στο διαδίκτυο, στα blogs και στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης (social media) όπως το Facebook και το tweeter. Οι χρήστες τα «αξιοποιούν» με διάφορους τρόπους αλλά κυρίως για να εκφράζονται ωμά, έντονα, με επιπολαιότητα και τις περισσότερες φορές με θυμό.

‘Αποφάσισε, διέταξε και έκλεισε την ΕΡΤ’ ο κ Σαμαράς και μείναμε χωρίς ειδήσεις όταν έκλεισαν και τα υπόλοιπα κανάλια. Μετά ‘αποφάσισε και διέταξε το άνοιγμα της ΕΡΤ’ το ΣτΕ και κόντεψε να μείνουμε χωρίς Κυβέρνηση με τις διαμάχες των κκ Σαμαρά, Κουβέλη και Βενιζέλο…

       Οι τρείς μάλλον πάνε να γίνουνε δύο αλλά με κάποιους ‘πρόθυμους’ να επιστρέψουν στα πολιτικά μαντριά η Κυβέρνηση, προς το παρόν, δεν κινδυνεύει να…πέσει!...

     Κατηγόρησαν έντονα και διεθνώς οι Τούρκοι γείτονές μας που επί τρείς εβδομάδες συνεχίζουν τις αντικυβερνητικές διαδηλώσεις τους, τα Τουρκικά ΜΜΕ που «τηρούν σιγήν ιχθύος» για τα γεγονότα…Έτσι και στην Τουρκία, όπως και στην Αίγυπτο, εποχή της «Αραβικής Άνοιξης», το διαδίκτυο και τα αποκαλούμενα ‘social media’ υποκατέστησαν την TV…

Media outlets in Turkey and Germany upped the severity of language of new reporting, amid rising tension between the countries that followed Berlin initiative to halt Turkey’s European Union bid.

The two have been in conflict since German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s statements on the ongoing Gezi Protests, and the daily newspapers of both countries have decided to join in.

German Bild carried Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on its cover with the caption “New Dictator,” depicting Erdoğan with a Hitler-like moustache. The cover was then featured on the front page of Turkish daily Takvim, who itself dubbed Merkel a “Nazi.”

New York Times responds to Turkish PM’s criticism over Gezi Park ad

The New York Times has said it accepts advertisements “from all advocacy groups who wish to share their opinions” in response to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s criticism over a full-page ad placed in the newspaper by Gezi Park supporters.

“We publish this type of advertising because we believe in the First Amendment, which affords us the right to publish news and editorials, but just as important, guarantees the public’s right to be heard,” the New York Times said in a written statement to daily Hürriyet published on June 8.

“Our advertising department and our newsroom are completely distinct operations and the newsroom has nothing to do with the placement or acceptance of advertising messages,” it also added.

Η δικαστική «μάχη» περί «like» και ελευθερίας έκφρασης και λόγου

Η εξάπλωση της χρήσης των social media έχει φέρει αλλαγές και ερωτήματα όσον αφορά την ελευθερία της έκφρασης στο νέο αυτό μέσο. Συνεχώς βγαίνουν στην επικαιρότητα θέματα ατόμων που βιώνουν τις δυσάρεστες επιπτώσεις δημοσιεύσεών τους, με πολύ χαρακτηριστικές πρόσφατες περιπτώσεις αυτές της αθλήτριας Βούλας Παπαχρήστου, για το θέμα που προέκυψε για tweet της που χαρακτηρίστηκε ως «ρατσιστικού περιεχομένου, με αποτέλεσμα τον αποκλεισμό της από την Ολυμπιακή αποστολή, και του βουλευτή Αχαΐας, Νίκου Νικολόπουλου, που διεγράφη από τη Νέα Δημοκρατία κατόπιν επικριτικού προς την κυβέρνηση σχολίου στο Twitter.

Αυτό τον καιρό στις ΗΠΑ «μαίνεται» μία «μάχη» γύρω από το γνωστό «like» στο Facebook, και κατά πόσον αυτό θα έπρεπε να προστατεύεται από τα συνταγματικά δικαιώματα περί ελευθερίας του λόγου και της έκφρασης. Ο Ντάνιελ Ρέι Κάρτερ Τζούνιορ ήταν βοηθός σερίφη στο Χάμπτον της Βιρτζίνια. Προϊστάμενός του και σερίφης ήταν ο Μπι Τζέι Ρόμπερτς, ο οποίος έθετε ξανά υποψηφιότητα για τη θέση το 2009. Το ζήτημα προέκυψε όταν ο Κάρτερ και άλλοι πέντε υπάλληλοι του γραφείου του σερίφη έκαναν like στη σελίδα του ανταγωνιστή του Ρόμπερτς στο Facebook, με αποτέλεσμα να απολυθούν μετά την επανεκλογή του Ρόμπερτς.
