Le National Weather Service a mis en garde les résidents du Midwest américain, les sommant de rester chez eux car des tornades très dangereuses étaient annoncées. A minuit, heure française, près de 50 tornades étaient signalées faisant déjà deux morts et plus de 40 blessés.

Les informations sont aussi alarmantes que confuses. 10 États du Midwest américains, soit 53 millions de personnes, étaient dimanche sous la menace de vents très puissants et de tornades extrêmement rapides et violentes. A minuit, heure de Paris, le premier bilan signalait deux morts dans l'Illinois et une quarantaine de blessés.

The Hong Kong Observatory has issued No. 8 storm signal, its third highest weather alert as Typhoon Utor approaches Hong Kong. Forecasters say the alert will remain in force for most of the day today.
Strong winds and heavy downpours lashed Hong Kong overnight. After ravaging through the Philippines and displacing thousands of residents, Typhoon Utor turned towards Hong Kong Wednesday morning.
The Hong Kong Observatory issued storm signal No. 8 early in the morning. This is the Observatory’s third highest alert level. According to the forecast, Utor will be closest to the city during the day, skirting around 250 kilometres to the southwest of Hong Kong.
