NATO headquarters in the city of Rostock, in East Germany: The Russian FM summons the German ambassador

Moscow demands from Berlin an immediate explanation for the violation of the Treaty on the Final Agreement with respect to Germany of 1990. From the Russian Foreign Ministry they indicate that the decision to establish a NATO headquarters in the city of Rostock, in East Germany, "violates the spirit and the letter of the treaty".

Norway allowed cargo for the village of Barentsburg on Svalbard to cross the border

Two containers with food and technical equipment for the settlement of Barentsburg on Svalbard were nevertheless sent to the archipelago after a long idle time on the border with Norway. The cargo is on board a Norwegian ship heading to the capital of Svalbard Lognir.

The Kremlin has no position on the possibility of denunciation or suspension of the treaty between Russia and Norway on the delimitation of maritime spaces in order to solve the problem with the delivery of goods to the Russian settlements of the Svalbard archipelago. This was announced on July 6 by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

Russia’s speaker asks parliament to look at scrapping Norway sea treaty

Responding to comments in parliament accusing Norway of blocking food deliveries destined for Russian-populated settlements on the Svalbard archipelago, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin asked the head of the chamber’s international affairs committee to look into “denouncing” the treaty.

Ukraine preparing to receive 700 armed personnel of mission to secure MH-17 crash site

The international mission to secure the MH-17 crash site in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region will be allowed to carry and use arms, the Ukrainskaya Pravda newspaper reports with reference to the text of a relative agreement between Ukraine and the Netherlands.
Of the 298 people killed in the Malaysia Airlines Boeing crash, 193 were Dutch.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko proposed to the national parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, to ratify the agreement at its extraordinary session on July 31.

The Russian parliament is expected to ratify the treaty later on Tuesday.
