The US sanctions on Ukraine should be applied against Euromaidan activists, the illegitimate government and its Western backers, the Russian Foreign Ministry source said. The US President Barack Obama unveiled March 6 an executive order entitled "blocking property of certain persons contributing to the situation in Ukraine."
"It should be noted that a good faith interpretation of
Obama's orders (something we doubt to expect), the contained therein
sanctions should be applied primarily against Euromaidan activists, the
illegitimate government they appointed, and their Western backers.
They
are responsible for the destruction of the constitutional order and the
threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine," the source said,
calling it a 'double standard policy.'
"Back in July
2009, the United States has provided comment to the International Court
in connection with the situation in Kosovo. Washington then said that
"the legal principle of territorial integrity does not prevent non-state
entities from peacefully declaring its independence." The Hague court
made a similar conclusion by recognizing the legality of the unilateral
declaration of independence by Kosovo against the will of Belgrade. This
decision simply specifies the current rules of contemporary
international law," the source said.........http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_03_08/US-sanctions-should-be-applied-to-Maidan-and-Ukraines-illegal-authorities-Russian-FM-source-0194/
