Moscow calls for probe of air strike on east Ukraine's Lugansk

Russia calls for an investigation of an air strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Lugansk, and these tragic events in this city will be put on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s 'White Book' on human rights violations in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Commissioner on Human Rights, Democracy and Supremacy of Law Konstantin Dolgov told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

"We have submitted a resolution in the UN Security Council that demands creating humanitarian corridors and stresses the need to facilitate the evacuation of civilians from the conflict zones," Dolgov said, noting that "we are systematizing all information, and it will be reflected in the 'White Book' as we are collecting information."

The diplomat assessed the Ukrainian air strike on Lugansk as "absolutely unacceptable".

"This is an encroachment on the right for life, international humanitarian law, the April 17 Geneva accords and a roadmap of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)," he said.

"We call for an investigation in all cases of attacks on civilians," he confirmed.
