Ukraine has filed two lawsuits with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR): Crimea's accession to Russia and Russia's liability to Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said, according to Interfax.

"We are also preparing lawsuits, including some for the government agencies and departments of the Russian Federation, over the illegal takeover and robbing of Ukraine. One must be held accountable for that," the prime minister was quoted on the government's website as saying on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has launched an inquiry into Ukrainian property in Crimea, Yatsenyuk also recalled.

"As part of the criminal inquiry the Ukrainian government is filing a lawsuit to the tune of over 1 trillion hryvnias," the prime minister said.

Ukraine is using whatever legal methods possible to get Russia on the dock, he said.

"We are aware that such legal proceedings do not end in one month. But such legal proceedings will have results," Yatsenyuk said.

Earlier Yatsenyuk told Verkhovna Rada that Russia allegedly stole 2.2 billion cubic meters of Ukrainian natural gas stored in Crimea.-
