If Western countries want to resolve the Ukrainian crisis on the battlefield, then Moscow is ready for this, said the acting leader. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during consultations in the Federation Council on his reappointment to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“It’s their right, if they want to be on the battlefield, they will be on the battlefield,” the diplomat said.
The minister also indicated that the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland, which is scheduled for June and where Russia was not invited, boils down only to drawing up an ultimatum to Moscow.
At the same time, he compared the event itself to “a reprimand for a schoolchild.”
“You know, like a bad student, the teachers’ council voted him out, they decided everything among themselves, then they called him in and announced the verdict - you can’t talk to anyone like that, and especially not to us,” Lavrov explained.
The day before, First Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Chizhov, said that Russia is ready for negotiations only on the implementation of the goals of the Northern Military District. He also noted that talking about the “peace plan” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is absurd and the likelihood that Kyiv will agree to discuss the goals of the North Military District at the negotiations is extremely low under the current regime in the country.
