Iraqi presidency condemns attacks on PMF, Kurdish forces

Iraq’s presidency has issued statements condemning separate attacks on PMF and other Kurdish forces in Iraqi territory.

As we reported earlier, a US air attack on the PMF’s command headquarters in Anbar killed at least 14 people, including the regional operations commander.

Meanwhile, Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region accused Iran of two ballistic missile attacks on Kurdish forces that killed six people and wounded 30 others.

Iraq’s presidency slammed “criminal attacks” on the PMF command in Anbar, calling them a “violation of the country’s sovereignty”. In a separate statement, it also denounced “the bombing that targeted the Peshmerga forces”, whom it said are a “fundamental pillar of the national defence system”.
