Body set up by Iran to manage Strait of Hormuz warns ships over unauthorised routes

The body set up by Iran to manage the Strait of Hormuz has said that ships sailing through unauthorised routes in the waterway will face serious restrictions.

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) said on X that it has received reports of some charterers forcing vessels to transit through “invalid routes”.

“This action, in addition to creating the risk of financial and human losses for the vessel, owner, captain, and crew, also seriously restricts the vessel’s future passage through the Strait of Hormuz,” the PGSA said.
