End of the boycott? Major networks reportedly set to resume coverage of Trump

Major U.S. television networks will resume joint coverage of U.S. President Donald Trump this Sunday, even though the White House continues to block CNN from participating in the press pool, according to The New York Times.

ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC will return to covering presidential events on a rotating basis; whenever it is CNN's turn, the networks will decide whether to send a substitute team or leave the slot empty.

 The provisional plan began to take shape last Friday, after the five networks, which routinely collaborate to share audiovisual material, suspended the television pool for a week in protest of CNN’s expulsion from the presidential complex.

 The measure had escalated to the point where the broadcasters refused to air parts of the summit between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, leaving key moments of the presidential agenda without quality coverage amidst a conflict that has already been playing out in the courts for over a year.
