Macron hits record lows: more than 80% of the French are dissatisfied with their president

These are the results of an Ipsos BVA poll conducted for the 'Tribune Dimanche' newspaper. His approval rating is currently at its lowest point since his presidency began in 2017.

His popularity has declined most sharply among supporters of the presidential majority; his rating is now 19 percentage points lower than it was in June. Only 53% of respondents view his performance positively.

German Chancellor Merz holds an equally low rating. A poll by the INSA research institute in June of this year showed that only 15% of German citizens were satisfied with his performance.
