Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and former president of the country, lashed out on Monday at Marine Le Pen, leader of the French right-wing party National Rally, over her double standards regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
"Le Pen described Russia's takeover of Auchan's assets as 'hostile actions.' Thousands of sanctions against Russians in France, plus missiles for the degenerates in kyiv, was that friendly?" Medvedev wrote on social media.
"It seems Le Pen's party is now just another European party: Russophobia and support for the Nazis in Kyiv," he added.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the management of the Russian subsidiaries of Nestlé, Auchan, and Leroy Merlin to be transferred to a temporary administrator, citing Western support for Ukrainian attacks on Russia's civil and economic infrastructure. Management of the three companies was transferred to L.E.V. Management, a Russian management and business consultancy.
Marine Le Pen rejected the move on social media, maintaining that it "constitutes a hostile act against the interests of France and the nations of Europe" that must be condemned.
