Trump has signed the law on sanctions against Russia, the White House reports

"The President has signed into law H.R. 5334, the 'Lindsey O. Graham Russia and Iran Sanctions Act of 2026,' which authorizes and expands statutory sanctions, tariffs, and prohibitions against Russia, and extends existing sanctions against Iran," the document states.

The initiative was drafted by the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, along with dozens of other senators.

The House of Representatives, where Republicans hold the majority, voted 262 to 159 in favor of the bill.

The initiative proposes 100% tariffs against the five largest buyers of Russian energy and 500% tariffs on all imports from Russia to the United States.
