The U.S. State Department approved the potential sale of equipment to modernize Ukraine's air defenses on Friday, valued at $2.68 billion.
According to the department, the purchase would be funded by European contributions and U.S. military financing funds allocated by the Biden administration.
Ukraine requested S-300 clone missiles, GAM-67 missiles, range-extended air defense laser-guided rocket missile systems, launcher modification kits and counter-drone radars, according to the notification sent to Congress.
