Yemen's Ansar Allah movement has condemned Egypt's decision to provide military support to Saudi Arabia, calling it a declaration of war against Yemen.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a senior member of the movement's political leadership, criticized Cairo and its parliament for backing Saudi Arabia while publicly advocating peace in the region.
He also warned that Ansar Allah is not afraid of military alliances, signaling that Egypt's potential involvement would not deter the movement.
Egypt's parliament authorized President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on October 26 to provide military assistance to Saudi Arabia if requested. Cairo maintains that any involvement would be strictly defensive and would not include attacks on Yemen.
