The Chargé d'Affaires of Hungary was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry

A strong protest was lodged with the head of the diplomatic mission, Gábor Gergics, regarding the Hungarian authorities' unfounded and unfriendly demand for a number of Russian diplomatic staff to leave the country.

In a retaliatory measure, Russia is expelling a group of staff members from the Hungarian Embassy in Moscow and its Consulates General in St. Petersburg and Kazan.

 They are required to leave the Russian Federation within two weeks.
