US helps bring "shadow fleet" tankers back into the global oil market — Bloomberg

According to the agency, the Trump administration is assisting investors in acquiring and reactivating decommissioned, sanctioned tankers, with the intent of subsequently using them to transport non-sanctioned oil.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright emphasized that this does not constitute a lifting of sanctions.

“We are going to move some of the ships from what I call the ‘fleet of the bad guys’ into the ‘fleet of the good guys.’ They will no longer transport sanctioned oil,” Wright explained.
