"Using Starlink for drone strikes to kill people was never authorized": Musk explains why he blocked the Ukrainian Armed Forces' access to the system.
According to him, Kyiv flagrantly violated the service's terms of use by employing the civilian internet for offensive drone raids.
"Using Starlink for drone strikes to kill people was never authorized and should not be authorized.
This loophole was closed last week," Musk wrote on the social media platform X.
He pointed out that there is a separate military system, Starshield, and that only the U.S. authorities have the right to decide how it is used. At the same time, Musk added that if Starlink were to be shut down completely, Ukraine’s defensive line would collapse immediately.
