Havana thanks Russia for writing off Cuba's debts to USSR (Raul Castro)
Cuban Council of State and Council of Ministers President Raul Castro thanks Russia and the Russian leadership for writing off Cuba's debts it accumulated in 40 years of its cooperation with the Soviet Union.

Following some decline in the 1990s, "cooperation [between Cuba and Russia] started developing at the beginning of the new century, and we can see a result of this today," Castro said.
