Russia writes off 90% of Cuba's debt ahead of Putin's 'big tour' to L. America
Russia has written down $32 billion of Cuba’s Soviet era debt. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law ahead of his official visit to Latin America, with Havana as his first stop.
The agreement was first signed in October 2013 and draws a line under a twenty-year dispute.
Cuba is now required to pay back $3.2 billion over the next 10 years.

Marine Le Pen: "l'UE est une anomalie mondiale" qui "s'effondrera".
AFP - La présidente du Front national Marine Le Pen a qualifié d'"anomalie mondiale" l'Union Européenne, prophétisant qu'elle "s'effondrera comme l'Union soviétique s'est effondrée".
"L'UE est une anomalie mondiale", a-t-elle lâché mardi lors d'une interview accordée à RFI/AFP/Libération.
"C'est l'UE qui est anormale dans le monde. Il n'y a pas un seul espace qui est ouvert comme l'UE dans le monde", a déclaré Mme Le Pen.
"Nous sommes les 5% d'habitants du monde qui n'avons aucune maîtrise ni de notre économie ni de notre monnaie, ni de la circulation des personnes sur notre territoire", a-t-elle fustigé.

- Relations between the Soviet Union and the West had become so tense 30 years ago that British officials drew up a speech for Queen Elizabeth to deliver to the nation in the event of a nuclear war, newly released archives showed on Thursday.
In the speech, the monarch was to urge Britons to remain united and resolute in the face of the "madness of war."

at one of its ports with 10,000 tons of sugar and 240 tons of "obsolete
defensive weaponry".The Cuban foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the Soviet-era weapons were being sent to North Korea for repair and included two anti-aircraft batteries, nine disassembled rockets, and two MiG-21 aircraft.
