US vows to use all defense capabilities in emergency on Korean Peninsula

The United States has vowed to use all available defense capabilities in emergency situations on the Korean Peninsula to defend South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported Monday, citing Seoul's defense ministry.

The world is standing on the verge of the war in Ukraine, that can be compared to the Cuban missile crisis and it’s the US, not Russia, who is responsible for it, according to Stephen F. Cuba has said a North Korean cargo ship seized in Panama was loaded at one of its ports with 10,000 tons of sugar and 240 tons of "obsolete defensive weaponry".
The Cuban foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the Soviet-era weapons were being sent to North Korea for repair and included two anti-aircraft batteries, nine disassembled rockets, and two MiG-21 aircraft.

South Korea’s Chosun Daily says the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea could hold its third nuclear test on Monday. South Korean president, Lee Myung-bak has ordered his government to be fully prepared.
According to the report, a South Korean government official says the DPRK’s preparations for the nuclear test are in their final stages.

Recent satellite photos show Pyongyang may have been sealing a tunnel into a mountainside, where the nuclear device could be detonated.

North Korea plans nuclear test ‘targeted at US’

North Korea says it will carry out further rocket launches and a nuclear test that would target the United States, dramatically stepping up its threats against a country it called its "enemy".
The announcement by the country's top military body came a day after the United Nations Security Council agreed a US-backed resolution to censure and sanction the country for a rocket launch in December that breached UN rules.
"We are not disguising the fact that the various satellites and long-range rockets that we will fire and the high-level nuclear test we will carry out are targeted at the United States," North Korea's national defence commission said, according to state news agency KCNA.

N. Korea develops missiles capable of reaching US – Seoul

Pyongyang is developing missiles capable of reaching the US, South Korean officials have claimed. The allegations came as North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un called for the development of more powerful rockets after the successful launch of a satellite.
The North's launch of a three-stage Unha-3 rocket on December 12 prompted numerous allegations that the event was a secret missile test, rather than the purported satellite launch. South Korea has claimed that their analysis of the rocket's debris shows that Pyongyang may have developed technology allowing it to mount a nuclear warhead on a long-range missile.

Hundreds of thousands of North Korean soldiers and civilians have packed Pyongyang's main square to celebrate their nation's successful launch of a long-range rocket.
State television footage showed the crowd in Kim Il-sung Square standing in organised ranks on Friday as they cheered speeches by senior military, party and government officials hailing the success of Wednesday's launch and praising the country's young leader, Kim Jong-un.
