Νέα ισχυρή σεισμική δόνηση 5,2 στην Κεφαλονιά

Στον χορό των ρίχτερ κουνήθηκε πάλι το νησί του Ιονίου. Ο ισχυρός επιφανειακόας σεισμός, με εστιακό βάθος περίπου δέκα χλμ, σημειώθηκε στη 01.15 τα ξημερώματα (9/11/14).

Επικράτησε ανησυχία ανάμεσα στους κατοίκους καθώς ξύπνησαν μνήμες από την πρόσφατη καταστροφική επίσκεψη του Εγκέλαδου στην Κεφαλονιά.

Το επίκεντρο ήταν στο θαλάσσιο χώρο 9 Km δυτικά του Ληξουρίου με τους σεισμολόγους να θεωρούν ότι θα ακολουθήσουν κι άλλες δονήσεις αλλά είναι καθησυχαστικοί.

Strong aftershocks rock Chile as authorities assesses damage from earlier quake

SANTIAGO — A strong 7.8-magnitude aftershock and an earlier 6.4-magnitude rocked Chile’s northern coast today (April 3) even as Chilean authorities assessed the damage from a massive earthquake that struck off the northern coast on Tuesday.
There are no immediate reports of new damage or injuries from today’s aftershocks.

A strong 8.2-magnitude earthquake has struck off the northwestern coast of Chile...

A strong 8.2-magnitude earthquake has struck off the northwestern coast of Chile, killing at least two people and setting off a small tsunami that prompted evacuations along the country's Pacific coast.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was centered about 100 kilometers northwest of Iquique Tuesday evening. It was followed by several aftershocks, including one measuring 6.2-magnitude.

Chilean authorities said waves measuring about two meters were striking cities along the coast. Officials quickly ordered evacuations, warning that larger waves are expected later.

Ισχυρός σεισμός μεγέθους 6,5 βαθμών σημειώθηκε σήμερα βορείως του Πουέρτο Ρίκο χωρίς να προκληθεί τσουνάμι, ανακοίνωσε η Αμερικανική Γεωλογική Υπηρεσία.

Σύμφωνα με την ίδια πηγή, ο σεισμός, ο οποίος αρχικά αναφέρθηκε ότι είχε μέγεθος 6,4 βαθμών, ήταν υποθαλάσσιος και πολύ επιφανειακός, με εστιακό βάθος μόλις 27 χιλιόμετρα. Σημειώθηκε στις 12:01 πμ (τοπική ώρα) και το επίκεντρό του εντοπίστηκε 56 χιλιόμετρα βόρεια της πόλης Χατίγιο.
